Thomas J. Hofstedter, Investment Committee
Mr. Hofstedter became President and Chief Executive Officer of H&R REIT at its inception in December 1996, and President and Chief Executive Officer and a trustee of H&R Finance Trust at its creation in October 2008. Prior to joining the REIT, he was head of H&R Development’s commercial division. Mr. Hofstedter’s academic and professional experience has given him expertise in executive management, real estate and finance. Mr. Hofstedter graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto, and became a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1978.


Robert E. Dickson, Audit, Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committees
Mr. Dickson graduated from University College, Oxford in 1980 with a B.A. (Jurisprudence) and graduated from the University of Toronto Law School in 1982 with an LL.B. Since June 2011, Mr. Dickson has been a strategic financial consultant in the marketing and communications industry. Prior to that, from 2000, Mr. Dickson was Managing Director, MDC Partners Inc. and Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development, Maxxcom Inc., both public companies. Prior to that time, he practiced corporate law at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (now Dentons LLP) where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. Mr. Dickson’s academic and professional experience indicates expertise in the areas of executive management, law and finance. Mr. Dickson is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Edgefront Real Estate Investment Trust (TSXV:ED.UN) and of the Board of Directors of Engagement Labs Inc. (TSXV:EL).


Edward Gilbert, Audit Committee
Mr. Gilbert became a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in December 1969. Mr. Gilbert had over 20 years’ experience in public accounting until his retirement in 1989. During his career in accountancy he was involved with the accounting and audit of many real estate companies and was also involved in financing of real estate projects. Mr. Gilbert has over 35 years’ experience in owning, operating and managing real estate properties and ventures. In 1995, Mr. Gilbert joined Firm Capital Mortgage Investors Corporation, where he is currently the Chief Operating Officer and a director. Mr. Gilbert’s academic and professional experience indicates expertise in the areas of executive management, real estate and finance.


Laurence A. Lebovic, Investment Committee
Mr. Lebovic’s academic and professional experience has given him expertise in executive management, law and real estate. He graduated cum laude with a B.Sc. from John Hopkins University in 1966, and received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1971. He was formerly a partner at the law firm of Minden Gross LLP. Mr. Lebovic has been the Chief Executive Officer of Runnymede Development Corporation Ltd. since 1993.


Ronald C. Rutman, Investment,Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committees
Mr. Rutman graduated from the Commerce and Finance Program of the University of Toronto in 1975 and received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1976. Mr. Rutman has been a partner for over 30 years at Zeifmans LLP, Chartered Accountants (formerly Zeifman & Company, Chartered Accountants) and has substantial real estate experience. Mr. Rutman’s academic and professional experience indicates expertise in the areas of real estate and finance.


Stephen Sender, Audit, Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committees
Mr. Sender has over 30 years of experience in the investment banking industry in Canada and abroad. He was Managing Director, Industry Head - Real Estate in Scotiabank’s Global Banking and Markets division until November 2015, representing the bank’s capital markets activities in the Canadian real estate industry. From the early 1990’s he specialized in the Canadian real estate sector, providing investment banking advice to numerous public entities with respect to capital markets activities. He has been directly involved in raising equity and debt capital in a large number of transactions and has provided financial advice in numerous large transactions including mergers, takeovers and related party transactions. Mr. Sender has been a frequent moderator/speaker at conferences in Canada focusing on capital markets developments in the real estate sector. Mr. Sender holds a B.Comm. (Honours) degree from the University of Cape Town and qualified as a C.A. (S.A.) in 1984.


Alex Avery, Investment Committee
Mr. Avery is a prominent Canadian leader in real estate strategy, leadership and governance. Most recently, Mr. Avery spent 12 years with CIBC World Markets, where he was Managing Director and led its real estate and REITs institutional equity research team. Mr. Avery has been consistently recognized for the depth and quality of his research by institutional investors, as a Top Gun Analyst by Brendan Wood International and for his stock picking and earnings estimation abilities by StarMine. Mr. Avery earned his CFA designation, holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Engineering & Management from McMaster University, and is a Chartered Surveyor and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.


Juli Morrow
Ms. Morrow earned a B.C.L. from McGill University in 1975, an LL.B from McGill University in 1976 and a LL.M from the University of Toronto in 1979. She is a partner at the law firm of Goodmans LLP in Toronto, which she joined in in 1977. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, mortgage financing, leasing, management agreements and joint ventures. Ms. Morrow's academic and professional experience indicates expertise in the areas of real estate and finance.
